OCTOBER 30, 2004 – Just a handful of days before Americans head to the polls in what is the most important election of our lifetime, Osama Bin Laden has released a seven-minute infomercial meant to make his appeal to American voters. Rather than threaten America, Osama made a candidate-like pitch to the American people, trying to sound diplomatic and explain and justify his actions on 9/11. Calling to the heartstrings of Americans, he laid out his case against both candidates and blamed past terrorist attacks - as well as future ones - on the policies of the US Government. He never meant to or planned to or wanted to do what he did on 9/11, he said, our policies made him do it. We here at The Moderate Independent, and, indeed, many Americans of many different political persuasions, ranging from the Pat Buchanan right to the far left, have laid out very specific policies that the US has carried out in the Middle East that created the situation that led to 9/11. Idiotic, murderous actions on the part of the US sewed the seeds of hatred, and arming, financing, and training murderous butchers, like Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, gave too much power to people who could be trusted with none. So now Osama has turned to us, the open-minded and moral of the American people, released his diplomatic campaign commercial laying out his case and trying to call on our morality and understanding. As a spokesman for The Moderate Independent, a news source that speaks as America's True Voice, I have three words for Bin Laden: Go fuck yourself. If you wanted to appeal to the American people, you had the chance and the means. You were not some poor shepherd or goat herder caught unaware as you tended your flock and left with no means to respond. You were the spoiled rich son of one of the richest insiders in Saudi Arabia. You now chide George W. Bush for being nothing but a fortunate son given power by a powerful father, but you are no different. You were born to privilege, but unlike your brothers, you have chosen to live your entire life as a sinner, spending a lifetime killing and inspiring others to kill, from the hills of Afghanistan to Asia to Europe to America. Your true gripe, as you state it, never was with the American people, it was with the government of your own nation, Saudi Arabia. Again yesterday, in making your desperate, whiny appeal to the American people, you sought our understanding with regard to how horrible the governments of Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern nations are, the unfair dictatorships that dominate. You compare our current administration to these and say this too helps justify 9/11. Our answer to you: if this is what you really cared about, you would have taken it up with the Saudi government. It was their decision to be the dictators they are, and it was their decision to let us put our troops on their soil during the first Gulf War. If you didn't like these things, you would have sought to replace the Saudi government that let these things happen. But you didn't, and there is a reason. And the reason is that you never wanted - and don't want - the peace you pretend you do. You don't want to fix the problems with the regime in Saudi Arabia. You don't care about the plight of the Palestinians or Lebanese or other Muslim peoples. You don't care about the horrible dictatorships in your region. For if you did, you had the power, and money, to attempt to do something about it. If you were the reasonable man you paint yourself to be, you could have made your case - the very one you make to the American people now - ring across the entire planet. It makes no difference that you are a foreigner. Just ask Rupert Murdoch. When Rupert Murdoch had a problem with the communist regimes in China, he made a plan to do something about it, buying a network to broadcast across the region. When Rupert Murdoch wanted to make a case to the British, he set out a plan to do it, starting up a massive media machine there. When he wanted to have a voice to make his case to the American people, he bought himself 24 hours a day of voice via a cable network and chain of newspapers. Like you, Rupert Murdoch was not American. Like you, he had lots of money at his disposal. But unlike you, he truly had something he wanted to say, and so he bought himself a platform to say it. This is how human beings who have something to say to the world work. When Martin Luther King saw brutality and problems with American policy, he made a plan to address it. He took his case to the American people, earned himself a voice through his actions, appealed to their morality. This is how human beings who stand for a cause work. And now you see an election upcoming. Many of the American people are horrified by the actions of George W. Bush over the past four years. In response, we have created media outlets and organized politically and worked day and night to fix the problem for the people of our nation. This is how human beings who don't like the people running their country work. You, on the other hand, have done nothing to address any of the situations you claim to commit terrorism in response to. You have not sought to fix or replace the Saudi Government. You have not sought to help spread democracy across the middle east. You have not sought to help create stability among the Israeli people and their neighbors. And you did not use your massive wealth to buy a network to make your case to the American people. No, you didn't even buy a single 30 second commercial. In fact, you didn't even bother to learn English so you could talk to the American people. No, you never did any of these things that humans who actually have things they want to change do. And that is because all of the claims you make are just bullshit excuse. You don't care that the middle east is ruled by dictators. You don't care about the death of innocent people in middle eastern places as you claim to. You aren't offended by the Bush family and how the father helped his rich son gain power. And, despite your pretty little video, you don't care to make any case or appeal to the American people for the sake of altering our policies. Your goal was to try and get us to help you feel better about your inhuman, insane, amoral nature. Your goal in releasing this video was to convince us you are human. Your goal was to make yourself seem intelligent. Your goal was to make yourself seem reasoned, principled, justified, and indeed, righteous. But the world knows that you are none of these things. And by the release of this video, you make clear you realize it as well. You are not asking the American people to change their policies - you are asking them to make you feel better about your actions. You are not asking the world to help you bring democracy to the middle east, you are asking the world to please, somehow, tell you you are not the defective, morally depraved failure that you are. You released a well-crafted, well-planned, finely written video to the American people just days before our election, claiming you seek for us to change our policies. If the American people don't like the policies of their government, they change them with a vote. That is how humans who actually care about democracy and want to change policies work. You are a no such human. You are a psychotically defective killer who now feels guilt and wants the world to tell you you are not the hateful, subhuman thing you are, that the slaughter of 3,000+ people on 9/11 was somehow justifiable, that your soul is not wretched with sin and that Allah will forgive you and accept you to Heaven. Sorry, Osama. As someone charged with speaking with America's True Voice, I have to break it to you: Allah knows your actions were not justified, that your excuses are just that, that you are simply a morally-defective butcher who has spent a lifetime killing and teaching others to kill, repeatedly, from the early Afghanistan days to the present, and are now seeking to cleanse yourself with words of justification after the fact. Allah will never accept you into Heaven, the American people will never accept your explanations, and the world will never accept your attempts to cast yourself as a martyr. We all know and see what you are and what you have done. And we all know what were God's Ten Commandments. And none of your finely crafted justifications can rewrite the tablets of God. I'm Thomas J. Bico, and I approve this message, and the fact that you, Osama Bin Laden, can kiss America's ass. |
