We Told You Months Ago That The Biggest Threat No One
Is Paying Attention To Is The Return Of Russia To Being A Dictator Run
Police State. Yesterday, Sec. Of State Powell went on Fox News to say
he was worried that Putin is using party-run TV once again and using it
to keep opposing candidates down - yes, Powell said this from Fox News,
a Republican Party-run station that is used by the Bush/Limbaughians to
keep opposition candidates down.
But the reality is neither party has made an issue of
what one prominent Russian, chess master Kasparov, said yesterday
plainly has been a return to being a Soviet-like "police state." On top
of this, we never have taken the opportunity they offered to dismantle
their nuclear arsenal. And even more, they have now - for the first
time since the USSR's collapse - started building a new generation of
nuclear missiles.
So while the Bushies brag about how they got us
trapped in the sand in Iraq as if that proves they know how to run
foreign policy, our victory in the Cold War is slipping away - and,
having alienated the world - the Bushies are completely impotent to do
anything about it. In fact, they won't even attempt to take a
meaningful stand now. Will Senator Kerry step up and take on this issue?
